XR MDM solutions provider ArborXR recently announced the strategic acquisition of InformXR, an XR learning analytics platform. This is part of an ongoing effort to debut ArborXR Insights, an in-house XR analytics suite ready for the firm’s existing user base.

The move sees InformXR’s Founder Dan Kuykendall, along with the firm’s engineering and data science team, join ArborXR to bring the Insights solution to life.

Kuykendall added:

We built InformXR because we saw how hard it was for developers and enterprises to get the data they need from VR training. Integrating directly into ArborXR’s platform was the natural next step—combining powerful insights with best‑in‑class device management.

“Dan has a long history within the enterprise technology industry, including having recently exited Rapid7, and has built InformXR into a capable XR insights and analytics platform. We are thrilled to welcome Dan and InformXR’s talent to our team, as we continue to expand our XR platform and capabilities during this critical period of industry-wide growth,” said the CEO of ArborXR, Brad Scoggin.

ArborXR Insights aims to allow managers to view learner performance data from XR training programs and deeper real-time hardware data, such as who is using a headset. It also enables integration with Business Intelligence tools, a collection of over 500 Learning Management Systems ready for quick installation and deployment into workflows for use cases such as classrooms, remote field locations, and “secure government settings.”

Moreover, the ArborXR platform is ready for enterprise adoption thanks to its SOC 2-certified status, which brings high standards of data security and compliance.

Soggin’s also added:

Despite surging interest in immersive training across industries, XR programs still operate in a data blind spot. Without unified analytics, organizations must stitch together manual logs, anecdotal feedback and disconnected platforms to understand learner performance and XR program ROI, leaving executives without the hard evidence needed to fund and scale deployments. ArborXR Insights removes that blocker in minutes, not months—enabling teams to bring XR fully into their learning systems.

This strategic acquisition follows ArborXR’s recent announcement of securing $12 million in new funding, bringing the firm’s total capital raised to over $25 million. Mercury Fund and Cortado Ventures led the 2024 funding round, with participation from Impact Venture Capital and Lewis & Clark Ventures.

ArborXR Partners with Meta to Scale MDM Efforts

Recent developments from ArborXR indicate an increasing interest in XR MDM solutions, suggesting a growing trend among enterprises to seek service providers capable of helping end-users scale and manage larger XR hardware deployments.

For instance, ArborXR and ManageXR joined a new service called “Meta Horizon Managed Services,” which combines the Meta for Business model with features from Meta for Education. Initially, both Meta for Business and Meta for Education included device management tools. Now these functions are being outsourced to integrated third-party MDM solution providers.

Brad Scoggin said at the time:

Enterprises need trusted, scalable solutions to successfully deploy XR—and that’s where ArborXR comes in. By partnering with Meta, we’re bringing together best-in-class VR solutions and enterprise device management, giving organizations the confidence, security, and support they need to scale XR with ease.

Additionally, Meta’s collaboration with third-party MDM firms to develop a unified solution may represent a significant step toward offering a headset/MDM combination. This could enhance the Quest portfolio, positioning it as a leading choice for enterprise headsets.
